Great new song

I heard this song this morning on the radio called "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter. It's something I think lots of people can relate to at some point or another!

I'm going crazy... want to join me??

So I'm taking 3 grad classes this semester. And still working full-time. With a family. Sheesh, what am I thinking?! I had my first class today for the third course that I'm taking, and my brain hurts! I'm thankful that my other 2 classes will be a little easier to deal with. I like the one prof we have; he's easy to understand (even with his accent), funny, and fair. I just got moved to another section for class #2 due to the sheer class size. So, I won't know how that class will go until Thursday.

The class I had tonight was good in general, but it was a lot of mathematical information to absorb in a short period of time. I guess I should be thankful that the prof is American, so he's VERY easy to understand, and that it's not a summer class. I did find myself watching the clock though. I didn't have anything to eat for dinner, since class started at 4:30. By 6, I was ready to take off and eat something, but class had another hour to go. Sheesh. And we only had a 5-minute break!

Anyway, I'm kinda questioning my schedule because it IS a little insane, but I really want to graduate in August. I guess whatever doesn't send me to the looney bin will only make me stronger, right?

Ants in my pants!

Have you ever had one of those days where you just have to get out of the office? It's only 3pm and I've been wanting to go home for hours! Ugh and I have class tonight! I finally have a relatively manageable "to do" list, and I want to work on it. Hopefully, class will be relatively short so I can work on the next project. :)

She walked without us!!

Hubby and I went to see Les Miserables at the National Theatre last night (big disappointment) and of course, got a babysitter for our little one. When we got back, our babysitter told us that our little one took three steps without help! My mouth dropped! We told her that we've been trying to get her to walk with no succuss. Oh well. That just means we should be seeing her walk any day now.

As for Les Miserables, I was very disappointed. I thought being such a long-running, well-known show that even with mostly understudies and being a travel company, it would be a first-rate show. Man was I wrong. There were some very good singers, but some... not so good. One of the children forgot his lines, one of the dancers fell during the wedding scene, and I personally feel that the props in general were lacking. I had previously listened to the soundtrack (although it's been a while), and I believe I saw the movie, so I knew at least the general idea of what was going on. There were a lot of times that I found it very difficult to understand what was being sung. Whether it was overly loud singing on the actors' parts or poor sound board mixing, I don't know. There were also parts of the show where I found myself dozing off. If I could get my money back, I'd ask for it back! It was certainly not worth the $63 per ticket we paid for balcony seats!

The traffic's back

To the tune, The Cat Came Back
With apologies to Harry S. Miller

Christmas week was such a dream
A few days after New Year's seemed
to keep the traffic away...
Because it had all gone far away

But the traffic's back the very next day
The traffic's back; I thought it was a goner
But the traffic's back; it just couldn't stay away.

I took the corner out of the block
and nearly hit a car much to my shock
She wouldn't go any faster
I thought it would be better if I could get past her.

But the traffic's back the very next day
The traffic's back; I thought it was a goner
But the traffic's back; it just couldn't stay away.

Ok, I didn't almost hit a car, but every time I changed lanes this morning, it seemed that the person would intentionally slow down to well below the speed limit. I just wanted to get to work!!

More music in my head

Don't ask why... Mr. Hanky, the Christmas Poo from South Park.

Ok, I'm a little weird if you haven't figured that one out yet.

On a side note, I received a Sudoku daily calendar for Christmas, and today's Sudoku has a difficulty rating of 2 out of 5 stars. That should be nothing, considering I finished a Samurai Sudoku last night in pen with no problems. I can't seem to get it together on this one.

On another side note, I have an interview on Thursday for a place that's VERY close to home -- within 5 miles! It also puts me very close to my doctor's office, close to Reston Town Center, and close to my daughter's day care. I'm so excited! I hope the pay and benefits are enough for me to make a move.
