The traffic's back

Christmas week was such a dream
A few days after New Year's seemed
to keep the traffic away...
Because it had all gone far away

But the traffic's back the very next day
The traffic's back; I thought it was a goner
But the traffic's back; it just couldn't stay away.

I took the corner out of the block
and nearly hit a car much to my shock
She wouldn't go any faster
I thought it would be better if I could get past her.

Ok, I didn't almost hit a car, but every time I changed lanes this morning, it seemed that the person would intentionally slow down to well below the speed limit. I just wanted to get to work!!
